It was bound to happen. I mean Seattle Seahawks RB Marshawn Lynch has been known to gobble down Skittles after his touchdowns. And with his team’s popularity skyrocketing due to their presence in Super Bowl XLVIII, a deal between the candy giant and self-declared “Beast Mode” was a match made in Rainbow Heaven.
The deal is to be announced Tuesday. Though specific terms haven’t been released, it is known that Lynch will receive financial compensation. Skittles will also donate $10,000 to Lynch’s Fam First Foundation for every touchdown he scores in Sunday’s game. To commemorate the new partnership, Skittles is releasing a limited edition Seattle Mix Skittles bag with only blue and green candies.
The collaboration will definitely please many in Seattle who have taken to giving Lynch “Rainbow Showers” after touchdown scores during home games. Many supermarkets in the area are known to run short of the candies on home game Sundays.
