The National Football League has suspended Indianapolis Colts linebacker Robert Mathis for four games for violating the league’s ban against performance-enhancing substances.
Mathis has admitted to making a mistake by taking a medication to assist with fertility. He and his wife are currently expecting a child. Mathis stated he regrets seeking advice from the league and NFLPA. In a statement released on Friday, Mathis indicated that he requested Commissioner Goodell to not issue a suspension due to the medical nature. However, Goodell refused the request.
Robert Mathis will be eligible to return to the active roster on Monday, September 29th after the Colts’ game versus the Tennessee Titans on September 28th.
P.S. When is Commissioner Goodell going to get around to suspending the Colts owner for his DUI arrest this year? I mean he had $29,000 in cash and pills in someone else’s name….seems sketchy to me. Or maybe its just sketchy if it’s a player and not an owner. Things that make you go hmmm…..
