…and it’s name is Albert Haynesworth.
This guy here…he just insists on pissing Mike Shanahan off. First it was missing OTAs and mini-camps. Then it was coming to training camp and failing his conditioning test, for like a few days straight. Then there was last night after the Redskins’ loss to Baltimore in the 2nd of their preseason games.
Apparently Haynesworth wasn’t happy with the fact that the Redskins underplayed his health this week. When he left practice early Tuesday, and then missed Wednesday and Thursday, the team gave differing definitions as the days went by. Originally he was “sick”, then it was possible “dehydration”, then finally the media was told that it was “more of a headache than anything else.” Since then it has been revealed that defensive tackle could be suffering from rhabdomyolysis, a muscle condition that makes it difficult for the skeletal muscle to recover especially during extreme heat or extreme physical exertion.
As you saw above, Haynesworth felt the Redskins underplayed his illness to simply make him look bad for the issues he’s had with the team thus far. And don’t get me wrong, I know Shanahan and the organization are not truly happy with him, but I think the underplaying of what was going on had to do with how the league is. Coaches often downplay injuries on the scouting report. And Shanahan has always been one of the “best” at that. But even if it were something else I really wish Haynesworth would just shut his mouth. Like seriously dude, chill. You aren’t on the best terms with them so be quiet, learn the new defense that they put in place to be BETTER, and do the job you were given $100 million to do. End of story.
